With Conan no longer being on television he decided that he would be going back on the road to his roots and do a bit of stand up. Always known as a great comedy writer and comedian even before his late shows, Conan spent many years behind the scenes writing comedy.
His new tour will be in 30 cities, and expects to be sold out fairly quickly. With a fat stash of cash from his settlement he isn't exactly hurting for the money, but he may have had his pride hurt, and will probably do his share of bad mouthing NBC and the situation this year.
The man that looks like he has always had the best weight loss products and never seen the sun, will start the tour on April 12 in Eugene, Oregon called: The Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour. The title refers to Mr. O’Brien’s settlement with NBC, which included a provision that he cannot appear on television again until after Sept. 1.

NBC Exec Says Conan is Gutless and Failed
Well now. AT least someone decided to speak their mind about the whole thing. HArd for anyone to get n the side of any NBC executive in this whole fiasco though considering that NBC is the 4th most viewed network (out of 4: ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC) at the moment, and failing hard in every way.
NBC Sports executive Dick Ebersol has defended Jay Leno against comedic barbs from Conan O’Brien and David Letterman in the wake of NBC’s request to move “The Tonight Show” to 12:05 a.m.
According to The New York Times, Ebersol called O’Brien and Letterman “chicken-hearted and gutless to blame a guy you couldn’t beat in the ratings.”
“They’re just striking out at Jay,” he added. “It seems like professional jealousy.”
Sounds like Ebersol is a moron to me.
Ebersol blamed the late night shift on O’Brien.
“What this is really all about is an astounding failure by Conan,” Ebersol added, referring to “The Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien’s” ratings, which have fallen since O’Brien took over the reigns.
“I like Conan enormously personally,” Ebersol told the newspaper. “He was just stubborn about not being willing to broaden the appeal of his show.”
Yeah...so this guy that does SPORTS knows all about Late Night now does he? SPORTS are easy to make appealing. The games themselves are the show, not some idiot commentators. Maybe he thinks Conan needs some human growth hormone to compete?

Jimmy Kimmel Guest On Jay Leno's Show
NEver thought Leno would have this guy on his show. especially after Kimmel decided that it would be great to make fun of Leno for about 10 minutes this week on his show over the beef he has with Conan O'Brien. I'm sure Conan doesn't have much need for appetite suppressant reviews with the stress he is under right now. Of course he is going to have a huge payoff soon it sounds like so he may be living large.

NBC Trying to Screw Conan O'Brien
Well...I'm taking the Conan O'Brien side of this whole thing. While I don't even watch these late night shows, I always did find Conan to be funnier to me than Leno, or Letterman. Those two are like watching your grandfather look for his keys IMO.
So if I were to curl up in front of my electric fireplaces late at night, I would be wanting to watch Conan, and not Leno.
It's obvious to anyone that has any common sense that Conan O'Brien appeals more to younger audiences. It is also obvious that his getting screwed over by NBC and Leno. Why the hell is Leno back? Why the hell did he even quit the Tonight Show if NOW he is trying to get that time slot back?
It is a slap in the face to Conan in every way. Leno gave him The Tonight Show, and then for some reason decides to directly compete with him? WTF? If Conan doesn't keep the Tonight Show time slot, NBC, and Leno have screwed him, and the outcome is flat out wrong in every way. Including financially I would guess.

The Conan O'Brien Show is No More
Last night The Conan O'Brien Show had it's last episode. Conan O'Brien has packed his luggage and will be getting a few months off before he takes over The Tonight Show that Jay Leno has been hosting since Johnny Carson retired. O'Brien has hosted his own show since 1993.
Now all we need is for David Letterman to retire so we don't have to listen to his stale jokes anymore. O'Brien is clearly the best show of the 3 the last several years, and will do just fine as the new Tonight Show host.
“This is where they invented television,” O'Brien told Bush. “This is a temple to broadcasting and I leave this place with a heavy heart. It’s been an amazing home to me. I’ve been doing it for 16 seasons and it’s time to change. I think Eric Clapton said, ‘Change or die!’ You’ve gotta move, you’ve gotta evolve, you’ve gotta change. And I think the L.A. chapter will be fascinating because man, am I a fish out of water in Los Angeles and man, that could make some good television.”
“We’re really excited, we have an amazing set up on the Universal lot and we actually kicked the ‘Desperate Housewives’ out of their studio,” he said with a laugh. “We’ve since made up. And that was fun, let me tell you. But now we’re all friends. We lunch together almost every day.”

Jay Leno regretting retirement announcement?
Recently it was said that Leno was going retire and that NBS is going to hand over the reigns to his late night show to Conan O'Brien. Leno I guess is upset that Conan will be given the show. I'd rather watch a show selling diamond rings than to watch Leno, but apparently he is the most popular late night show there is. A recent poll on AOL says that both Leno and Letterman are more popular than Conan. I find this utterly ridiculous. There is no way that anyone in the 18-40 market would rather watch these 2 has beens over Conan. This is what NBC was betting on when they decided to try and keep Conan here when Leno retires in 2009. Leno agreed to Conan replacing him so that NBC could keep him at the network.
