Folks are practically rv camping outside almost any place that has anything remotely to do with Michael Jackson still, 2 days after his death.
It has been brought up many time, but this article talks a bit about how his impace may never be felt again. That we may never see a superstar achieve this level of popularity in modern society.
All you have to do is watch a few live performances of MJ to see that he had a different affect on people. Watching him perform live gives you the same glimpse of what crowds looked like at an Elvis, or The Beatles shows. Uncontrolled emotion from the fans. They just lose themselves in the presence of these mega icons.
The last few days I have watched a lot of MJ videos on Youtube. I was a kid when he burst onto the mega scene with Thriller, but I was like everyone else. An MJ fan. Seeing this video of his performance of Billie Jean on CBS in 2001 gave me chills this week. Imagine how it felt to be there. Just look at the crowd in this. Could anyone else pull this off?
