Wow...didn't realize she was only 48. TMZ is the only place I have seen reporting it and there is little detail. Her entourage found her in her room and immediately called 911. She was unresponsive and pronounced dead.
Too early to tell the cause. Investigations have started to rule out foul play. Obvious speculation is that it is drug related, but nobody has said anything about the cause yet to know anything. No new mens titanium watches for her crew this year.

Ellen Gives Real Values to Haters
Everyone is a hater of some sort. So much angst and venom out there about any issue whatsoever. People love to fight, but one thing that has always been silly to me is how people claim hatred as a "value".
While I don't watch Ellen's show, and don't even consider myself a fan of hers in any way, I appreciate people that stick up for themselves in a classy way and might even consider buying their discount dvd. Recently she became a spokesperson for JC Penney's and that enraged a bunch of people that claimed she didn't represent their "traditional values".
You disagree with these values?
"Here are the values I stand for. I stand for honesty, equality, kindness, compassion, treating people the way you'd want to be treated and helping those in need. To me, those are traditional values. That's what I stand for…I also believe in dance."

Our Sweet Dog
Contribution by Stevie Kirby
I thought that getting a dog would make me feel safer at home, but our dog is as sweet as can be. He rarely barks or growls, and is friendly to whoever walks through the door. He doesn’t get protective of the family at all. That’s a good thing for when we want to have guests come into the house, but it doesn’t do us any good in terms of security. I feel lucky that he is obedient and listens to me, but I know we need to do more to protect our home from thieves and other dangers. One of our family friends came over and when she met our dog and saw how friendly he was, she suggested we go to totalalarmsystems.com and get set up with a home alarm. She has always had one and says it makes her feel much safer when she is alone at home. Since getting a dog didn’t work out, I thought it was a god idea. When I thought about it, the alarm is probably much more effective than even the meanest guard dog. A guard dog can’t alert the police, so it’s probably worth it to try it out.

Luck on HBO
Still undecided on if "Luck" is another sure thing on HBO, but I was pretty satisfied with the pilot.
The show is based around the life at the race track. Looks at all angles from the gambling to the guys running it. The pilot episode focused mostly on a group of lowlife gamblers trying to win the giant "Pick 6" jackpot. Pooling their money together they placed their bet based on some apparent betting whiz. This was the biggest action of the pilot, but it introduced a lot of characters as well.
Most of what I've read is that people didn't understand a lot of what was going on. For some reason people fixated too much on how the bet worked, but really it was of little consequence. All you needed to know was that it was a longshot and they were trying to win.
A few guys you will recognize like Dustin Hoffman and Nick Nolte are in the cast so you know they are likely spending a pretty penny on producing this one. They are all in it seems as they have already renewed it for the 2013 season so getting into the show you know you have at least 2 full season to look forward to and won't be stuck playing with your model planes wondering how it was supposed to end. This is a good thing to know.

Kristen Bell=Sloth Lady
I'm gonna go a head and guess this is all just acting, but it should remind everyone of the infamous free dating Video Biography with the girl that loves cats so much that she cried every two seconds when she thought of them.
Kristen Bell should now be known as SLOTH girl I guess after this recent interview on the Ellen show.

Once Upon a Time
One of the only broadcast (ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox are broadcast) shows I started to watch this year was Once Upon a Time. I didn't watch it from the start, but only ran through it during the massive winter breaks for the only shows still on this year I watch like Fringe, which frankly got hosed this year with massive breaks because of scheduled and MLB playoffs. So during these huge lulls I had to get some sort of TV fix and picked this show somehow.
I marathoned the first 6-7 episodes I believe so I didn't have any downtime realy for the first parts. This typically makes me like a shw better than I think I do since I am not having to wait week to week to get small bits of story. Once I am caught up to live with the show though I almost always figure out if I really like the show, or it is just not a show I want to watch every week.
Once Upon a Time I have been watching every week (recorded of course), but it is starting to slow down a bit in how much I liked it before. I recognized it wasn't a fantastic show already, but it was good enough that I added it to my shows I watch for now.
Basic premise of the show is that a bunch of fairy tale characters are cursed by an evil queen to forget who they are and transported to a modern day town called Storybrook. None of them remember and this is the most boring aspect of the show. They do flashbacks to the fairy tale lands , but most of the story is in this small town where they all live. Them remembering is probably the thing I least care about on the show, and I almost want to wait until they figure it out to keep watching I care so little about this aspect. I'd rather watch people parade around in a cheap plus size cocktail dress than wait for this.
The show has all the fairy tale relationships like Snow White and Prince Charming not remembering who they are. They have a bunch of "drama" with them not klnowing and not being together so them not remembering feels like it is just spinning its wheels until something actually happens. I am much more interested in seeing what they do once everyone knows because I have no idea what the show is supposed to do at this point, and they have said that season 1 will have them remember. I suppose we'll have a big magical battle with the queen, who is the mayor of this town and then what? Not sure. Just not sure this show has a lot of legs to keep going so it is hard to stay real interested in it.

TMZ Has Case of Mistaken Identity
While I'm sure they have done it before, but this one is quite hilarious. Mistaking a 14-15 year old girl for a 9 year-old.
While spying on Bill Gate's wife and children this week they snapped a photo of them out for a walk in which they try to claim his daughter is using an iPhone. Where's her hoodie sweatshirts personalized? They even conveniently blurred it up so that it was difficult to tell exactly what kind of phone it was. The comments have mixed thoughts on what it is, but one thing is sure they don't agree it is an iPhone.
While that is ridiculous in and of itself, that isn't the worst of it. The picture is actually of Gate's older daughter who is around 15 year-old. TMZ claims the girl is 9. Along with that comes the typical TMZ comments saying how she is an Amazon, and whatever else having to do with the "good steroids". No, people have no tact on the internet. Even when it comes to children if you haven't noticed.

Making my loved ones' New Year's Eve special this year
Guest post written by Marissa Kent
I remember back in the day when it seems like I always had my options open for what I was going to do for New Year's. Well, that isn't exactly the case any more. It seems like now I'm always scrambling for something to do because now that I'm older my friends are no longer in love with the idea of hosting crazy holiday parties. So I thought that I would host one this year just like old times, or at least kind of like old times!
I looked online for some ideas about what kind of refreshments I can serve at the party and while I was doing that I ran across the site http://hearingaids.miracle-ear.com/mirage-invisible-hearing-aid.html. After I looked through it a little bit I decided to go and get fitted with some hearing aids.
I have quite the feast planned for all of us, but of course of mainly finger food. We're not actually going to have a regular sit-down meal. Instead, we're going to mingle a whole lot more. Parties like that are just a lot more fun.

Sherlock Holmes 2 Wins Weekend Box Office
I'm not sure how many people liked the first Sherlock Holmes movie with Robert Downy Jr. as Holmes, but I found it rather entertaining. I'm a fan of RDJ as an actor and find him to be pretty hilarious when he does a bit of a comedic role even though he is also a great dramatic actor as well. Amazing considering how much trouble he has gotten himself into over the years.
So...I was glad to hear that Sherlock Holmes 2 was being made since Holmes is clearly one of the best book series of all-time from a crime standpoint. May be quite ridiculous at times, but still very enjoyable to me overall. Even millermatic I might say.
"Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" claims the top spot in North American box office this week. On its first weekend, the Robert Downey Jr.-starring action comedy rakes in about $40 million. The result, however, is rather disappointing since the film is expected to gross at least $50 million in its opening week, judging that its first installment "Sherlock Holmes" opened with a massive $62.3 million in 2009.

'Mythbusters' Cannonball Accident Stops Show
This is the most magical cannonball ever. Doing one of their experiments with a homemade cannon things went horribly wrong. Instead of harmlessly hitting their targets and laying to rest in their safe zone, it careened off a hill and shot into a nearby neighborhood.
The cantaloupe-sized cannonball missed the water, tore through a cinder-block wall, skipped off a hillside and flew some 700 yards east, right into the Tassajara Creek neighborhood, where children were returning home from school at 4:15 p.m., authorities said. The ball was travelling upwards of 1,000 meters per second.
There, the 6-inch projectile bounced in front of a home on quiet Cassata Place, ripped through the front door, raced up the stairs and blasted through a bedroom, where a man, woman and child slept through it all — only awakening because of plaster dust.
The ball wasn't done bouncing.
It exited the house, leaving a perfectly round hole in the stucco, crossed six-lane Tassajara Road, took out several tiles from the roof of a home on Bellevue Circle and finally slammed into the Gill family's Toyota Sienna minivan in a driveway on Springvale Drive.
Incredibly nobody was hurt, but Mythbusters has halted production in the wake of the accident. No swarovski beads for these guys.
