Decided to Watch 'Carnivale' Finally

I never really knew what Carnivale was all about. Silly me I actually thought because of the way it is spelled that it was going to be some sort of Moulin Rouge musical or some nonsense. I never bothered to look into it. I knew it ended after 2 seasons and was cancelled so that left me even more reason to avoid it. Rather read the instruction booklet to my Security Software most of the time when I know the show doesn't actually end.

Then I heard a couple people talking about it one day and saying that it had some sci-fi/fantasy and battles of good vs. evil, heaven and hell, etc. Totally not what I was expecting obviously.

So I just finished season 1 today and I must say that this is one of the slowest moving shows that I have ever seen. That doesn't mean I didn't think it was great, however. I loved the first season immensely. The characters and their stories. The strange alternate world they live in with just enough from the real world to give it that cyberpunk sort of thing.

The problem? I know that it ends early. After season 2. Season 1 had a bit of a cliffhanger in it. Not a huge one that I couldn't live on without finding out what happens, but if season 2 ends this way as well I might be quite upset. I'm told that it digs a bit deeper and moves along at a faster clip though so hopefully I am not left totally wanting at the end of this unfinished show.

Dexter Now on During the Summer

In very recent news it appears that the possible final season of America's favorite serial killer, Dexter will be on this summer instead of the usual fall/winter schedule. Apparently it will start Season 8 on June 29th to try and split up their biggest shows of Dexter and Homeland and use them as lead ins to their new "hits".

While there has been no word if Season 8 will be the end of the line, many fans speculate that it will. The show has certainly moved into mediocre to terrible for at least the last 3 seasons so the sooner the better so I can quit watching it. I find the kuat bike racks on my car more interesting to view. *cough*

Yes...I think it sucks and I still watch it. Why? I started watching it from the very first episode when it first aired. The premise was awesome and I was on board from the get go. Most people never even heard of it until if you remember they showed a really censored version of season 1 on CBS. I think it ran durin gthe summer late night. Obviously it had to cut some parts out as it had cursing and I'm sure some nudity on Showtime.

So...yes I need to see how it ends no matter how done with the show I am and I will laugh at it and tell people how much it sucks the whole time!

Save Your Monopoly Token

After over 80 years the game of Monopoly is going to be getting rid of 2 of the iconic game tokens to make room for 2 new and more current tokens. A global vote is being held on Facebook here to save your favorite token, or to vote on which ones you want to go away. Currently (pretty much the 2 I expected it to be) the iron and the wheelbarrow are losing the battle.

Of course there are a lot of people wondering why they would do such a thing. Not just a democratic vote for a game that rewards being a sole dictator, but changing a classic. A business mogul game without all the headaches of finding Business Credit and Capital, while still being able to destroy the lives of family and friends. Obvious answer is money. This has and will give them a ton of press, and surely the Monopoly fanatics will have to go out and buy a "new" edition to keep up to date.

The funny thing is that we all know there will still be a "classic" version on the shelves with all the old pieces no matter what new ones are introduced. In fact, you have to wonder why they need to take any out in the first place right? I mean is it that big a deal just to toss 2 new pieces in the box and keep all the old ones? That makes too much sense of course. Then they couldn't sell a "classic" version as well!
