"Dr. Seuss' The Lorax" Posts Biggest Opening of the Year

No surprise that an animated film has taken the biggest box office jackpot of the year so far. No matter how good a movie is, people are always looking for a good family movie to go see together that they can all enjoy. Nothing like watching the kids enjoy themselves and making yourself feel like a kid again for a couple hours that's for sure. Instead of worrying about your adult worries like wondering " is 7 day slimming pill safe?" it is nice to let go and feel like a kid again, even for a short time.

The animated 3-D environmental tale greatly exceeded industry expectations, raking in $70.7 million, according to an estimate from distributor Universal Pictures. Meanwhile, the weekend's other new release, a polar opposite for families, the R-rated party flick "Project X," collected a healthy $20.8 million.
As a result of the robust ticket sales, receipts were up 26 percent as compared with the same weekend last year. Overall, it has been a strong year at the box office so far: Sales have jumped 19 percent compared to last year, and attendance has spiked 21 percent.
