OAKLAND, Calif. - A 7-year-old German shepherd named Buffy may lose a leg after jumping into action to protect her owner from a mugger. The dog was shot in her left front limb by an armed man who approached Oakland resident Will Bartley, 44, as he pulled into his driveway after work Wednesday night.

Dog shot defending owner from mugger
Talk about man's best friend. I don't even have human friends who would sacrafice themselves like this. Glad to see the dog will likely live. That dog should be treated like a queen.
