Miley Cyrus LEaves Twitter

This is huge news apparently. Hannah Montana leaves Twitter and then does a silly rap to apologize and explain why. Myabe she will hook everyone up with a
concerta coupon or something for more apology.

After her Twitter account mysteriously vanished last week, Miley Cyrus took to the Internet this weekend to deliver an explanation in the form of a well-choreographed rap. In the video, Cyrus raps, "I stopped livin' for moments and started living for people ... I want my private life private." basically saying that she wants to withdraw from cyberspace in order to make her personal life a little more, well, personal. But there was another line in the rap that really hit home and made me feel a little guilty. "Everything that I type and everything that I do/ All those lame gossip sites take it and they make it news." While I'd like to think that Newsroom is something more than a "lame gossip site," I can't help but wonder if I became part of the problem.

Zombieland Movie Should Be Incredibly Funny

When I was looking at some of Billy Murray's credits on IMDb.com a couple months back I noticed that he had a role in a movie called "Zombieland" and the name of his character was "a zombie". I was immediately intrigued. Not jsut because it was a comedy about Zzombies, but because I love Bill Murray, and if anyone could make "a zombie" absolutely hilarious it would be him. It has changed to "himself" now, which is still fine I guess. Himself as a zombie I must guess. Of course this is more of a cameo role, and from what I gather it is an amazing appearance that wasn't supposed to be spoiled. Obviously being listed as a cast member on IMDb.com makes it a moot point for spoilers. I'm guessign that he is a salesman selling the best weight loss pill to zombies...lol

Anyways, Zombieland has a pretty well known cast as it is outside of Murray's cameo. It stars Starring Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin. Woody Harrelson is probably brilliant in this movie too as he is just a very entertaining guy in roles like this I think.

If you happened upon another movie with a few stars (Bruce Willis) that was a horror/comedy in Grindhouse: Planet Terror I think we are in for the same treat here. Grindhouse wasn't nearly this big when it came out though as I never even heard of tit until it hit DVD and was on the torrent sites.

It opened yesterday and almost every review I have seen says it is HILARIOUS. I wouldn't expect anything less from this concept, or this crew. It is going to be amazing. Hopefully a true comedy classic.

David Letterman: Is Making it a Joke Better Than Apology in America?

I know we all know that America is VERY forgiving of celebrities. They will let any one off no matter how ridiculous and unconvincing their apology is. It is to the point that people are expected to apologize for the most ridiculous things. While watching these apologies you KNOW they don't mean it, but it is part of the game. You make the apology, you are forgiven for the most part. Even if people doubt your sincerity, they will still let you off the hook eventually just because you apologized like someone just needs to run a barcode scanner over your arm and say "Yup...he made an apology, back to normal.". It's a fascinating cultural thing that I always find completely ludicrous.

Has David Letterman upped the bar on getting caught doing something that most would expect him to apologize for? While the women he has sex with is none of my business, and more power to the guy, I find his way of joking about it to be far superior to the canned apologies we hear daily from celebs that could care less about what they di, or why people think it is wrong.

Letterman was apparently being blackmailed for $2 Million by a colleague for having sex with some women that he works with. The blackmailer sent him a letter saying that he "knows he did very bad things." and that he was going t tell the world if he didn't get paid off. Instead of cowering to the public and bending over to give them an apology, what did Letterman do? He read the letter on air and then JOKED about the situation. Making light of it by saying:

"I have had sex with women who worked on this show," Letterman told the audience matter-of-factly. "And would it be embarrassing if it were made public? Perhaps it would. Especially for the women."

Winner. Better than an apology, or anything else people want from these people. You don't know them. They don't have any responsibility to you in accordance to their sex lives. It's complete lunacy to expect someone to be sorry for enjoying a bit of sex. That is if you aren't religious...

Randy and Evi Quaid: Sleep, Dine, and Dash

Actor Randy Quaid, and his wife Evi have been accused of staying at lavish hotels, running up bills, and then not paying. Not just once, but according to some reports several times. Of course they claim to have paid these bills.

TMZ.com has a detective that says: Quaids Had Scam Down to a Science.

The Quaids have been staying in every kind of hotel like any celebrity would, and it appears they may have been ditching their bills at a few lavish ones, and probalby every Las Vegas hotel they ahve stayed at.

But they claim they have not done this obviously.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Detective Rod Forney wrote in a declaration in support of the arrest warrant ... Randy and Evi Quaid checked into the San Ysidro Ranch with a bogus credit card, bogus phone numbers and addresses and gave excuse after excuse as they racked up a bill totaling $10,546.96.

The Quaids -- who were arrested in Texas yesterday for the alleged crimes of burglary, conspiracy and conspiracy to defraud an innkeeper -- sent a check for $5,546.96 ... so they still owe 5 grand.

But according to Detective Forney, San Ysidro was small potatoes compared to the swanky Hotel Bel-Air in Bev Hills, where they allegedly stiffed the hotel to the tune of $17,000.

And, just before checking into San Ysidro, the couple allegedly stiffed the Santa Barbara Biltmore Hotel.

Michael JAckson Lost Will to Live

Appearing on the Today Show from NBC, Rabbi Shmuley Boteach unveiled lengthy conversations he taped with Jackson during their 1999-2001 friendship, and said the "Thriller" singer suffered deep emotional pain.

"He lost the will to live," Boteach said. "I think he was just going through the motions of life toward the end."

Boteach said that Jackson was afraid to appear in public after so many plastic surgeries because he felt that he looked like a "lizard" that no acne treatments, or more surgery were going to fix. You can certainly see the resemblance to the Harry Potter villian Lord Voldemort I guess who was a "snake" man. Jackson in the past appeared to be a huge fan of Harry Potter with that one old photo that came out from a therapist where he had to draw something about this life.

Back in March, when Jackson visited London to announce the "This Is It" shows, he appeared in a military-style jacket and punched the air.

But the tapes collected by Boteach show Jackson to be a far less confidant man, who feared growing old and had suffered levels of loneliness and pain that the rabbi said "staggers the imagination." story

"I would like some way to disappear, where people don't see me anymore at some point," Jackson said in the tapes.

"I don't want to grow old. I never want to look in the mirror and see that," the singer said.

Boteach has turned his conversations with the pop star into a book, published on Friday, called "The Michael Jackson Tapes."

72 Year Run Over For Guiding Light

A soap opera that began alllll the way back in 1937 on the radio, then hit television in 1952, aired it's series finale on Friday, September 18, 2009. I can't even comprehend a show running this long. It's not even a weekly show either. This is Mondy trhough Friday for over 70 years, although I can't exactly say with certainty that this is the format it took for its entire run. Regardless, while it was on TV, it had quite a few decades of 52 weeks, 5 days a week air time.

Over the years the cast included some celebs that went on to bigger and better things such as Kevin Bacon, JoBeth Williams, James Earl Jones, Allison Janney, Brittany Snow, Hayden Panettiere and Melina Kanakaredes. Many of which probably have their wrought iron candle sconces plugged with their favorite scented candles to mourn the death of this piece of Americana.

The final episode was I guess an upbeat one that showed this soap opera's version of the man and woman who are soul mates in Reva and Josh getting together for the final time.

They rendezvoused, according to plan (This must be something known to fans), at the local lighthouse and declared their undying love. Then these soul mates climbed into Josh's pickup truck.

"You ready?" asked Josh.

"Always," Reva said.

And they drove away, as the words "The End" flashed on the screen before a final fade-out.

"Guiding Light" now becomes the latest victim of the ratings collapse afflicting the entire soap-opera world. With an average 2.1 million viewers, it was the least-watched of all the network soaps, which after today (and some 15,700 past weekdays for "Light") will total only seven.

On Oct. 5, CBS will fill the slot "Guiding Light" is vacating with a new edition of the game show "Let's Make a Deal."

Michael Moore: "Capitalism: A Love Story"

Here we go again. Another Michael More "documentary" on the way. I quote documentary because most of his with that designation are poorly researched, and many times simply fraudulent. Of course that means very little to his fans and the ones he is helping spread their agenda.

This time his propaganda piece is entitled "Capitalism: A love Story" in which he has set out to prove that Capitalism is Evil. It will get a lot of run I'm sure because he does what any good scam artist does. He looks at the current situation and plays to the people that are negatively impacted by it.

While Moore does have a bit of humor, and some of the issues he raises are interesting, I still find his lack of accountability in his own work troubling. Obviously he does not care that much either way since most people that are looking for conspiracy theories, or anti-establishment rally pieces will take it in with out any critical thinking and spread it like wildfire from their cell phones and their internet forums.

While I have yet to see this, his previous "documentaries" have shown me that this is probably a trend that will continue so I think it is safe to make the assumption. Most of the issues he brings up actually have some sort of merit, but apparently not enough to him that he feels he must bend the truth to get his point a crossed.

Mike Judge's New Movie 'Extract'

If you are one of those that fell in love with Office Space you are probably interested in hearing that Mike Judge has made another movie called "Extract" that is in the same mold. This time it appears that the focus is on a small business owner/manager played by Jason Bateman as the "everyman".

It looks like Judge has been able to ditch the discount moving boxes for his actors and has gotten himself some decent names for this one as well. Bateman already mentioned , along with Mila Kunis, Ben Afflack, and even an appearance by Gene Simmons of KISS.

Extract seems to follow the same formula of Office Space in that it is a workplace comedy that likely deals with the stereotypes associated with working in as a mangaer, and as an employee. Most reviewers say that it isn't as funny as Office Space, but I consider Office Space one of my top 5 favorite comedies ever having wokred in a cube before. So I guess it is worth a shot to see since he has always made me laugh all the way back to Beavis and Butthead.

Wow...Crap Weekend at the Movies

I'm a pretty big horror fan, and like to watch terrible horror movies, but I consider that home viewing, DVD-rental fare. I wouldn't exactly hit the cinema to catch most of this tripe. I'd rather stya at home and save my cash and watch some show about motorhome towing or some crap on TLC.

Anyways, the top 2 grossing movies this week at the box office are THE Final Desitination (I seem to remember about 60 sequels of just "Final Destination", but I may be wrong) and the remake of Halloween 2.

"The Final Destination," from Warner Bros.' New Line label, was No. 1 with an estimated $28.3 million worth of tickets sold in the U.S. and Canada, boosted by sales at pricier 3-D screens.

Weinstein Co.'s "Halloween II," meanwhile, landed at No. 3 with a solid $17.4 million. Each movie had been expected to take in close to $20 million based on pre-release audience polling.

"Inglourious Basterds" declined a relatively modest 47% on its second weekend to $20 million, good enough for second place. Combined with the $19 million it grossed overseas, the Quentin Tarantino-directed drama has garnered $132.9 million worldwide in just 10 days, a strong showing given its production budget of about $70 million and good news for the two studios behind it, Universal and financially strapped Weinstein Co.

Inglourious Basterds Beats Tarantino's Previous Best Opening

"Inglourious Basterds" openind this weekend at the top of the box office charts obviously. Brad Pitt, and Quentin Tarantino together will win that spot even if the movie is horrible. People actually like it though so it is of no surprise it took the top spot earning roughhly $37.6 Million on opening weekend. It pushed District 9 down to number 2 after its debut at #1 last week, and GI Joe remained at #3.

Instead of going to see this I decided to go sell motorhome I have cluttering up my yard, but I will see it.

Inglourious gave Tarantino his biggest weekend box office oepening since Kill Bill Vol. 2, which opened in April 2004 at $25 Million. Inglourious gave Tarantino a 50% bigger rake than that and looks to be staying strong.
