Veteran gets cake after 50 years

Nice story. Amazing how much respect families of war veterans have for the soldiers their relatives served with when many in this country treat them like the plague. At least someone knows how to make good on a promise.

EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio - It took more than half a century, but William Bourne finally received the dessert delivery he was promised by the mother of a Korean War comrade.

This week, a chocolate cake arrived at his home in the northeast Ohio town of East Liverpool, brought by the son of Ed Charvat, with whom Bourne served in the Army's 1st Cavalry Division.
