The return (again) of Pee-wee Herman

We all grew up watching Pee Wee's Playhouse. In fact you can still watch it on some stations I believe. The show was pretty remarkable really in what kinds of things they would say on it. As a kid you didn't really pick up on most of the sexual overtones, but I'm sure if you watched it now you would see some of the crazy things that the characters say.

Paul Reubens is kind of a cult actor in which he just appears out of no where in many movies and television shows. Keeping track of his many paychecks must require some extensive budgeting software for his accountants. HE never really was a main character in most appearances, but has played some memorable roles. One that comes to mind immediately was his role in the movie Blow that starred Jonny Depp. HE played a homosexual stylist that just so happened to have the inside track to distributing drugs to everyone that was willing in California back before there really was a drug war. Solid acting in that role to be sure.

Now it seems he has made another come back and you can read about it in this recent article at MSNBC.com.

Hasselhoff demands apology for drunk story

Good old Hoff. The story said that Hasselhoff was bumping into tables, falling down, and demanding drinks from strangers at Les Deux nightclub in Hollywood. The Hoffmeister just wants them to clear it up and apologize. Damage done, dude. Why don't you check into a nice Bed & Breakfast and contemplate where you are going. This isn't the first drunk off your ass story that has been out there in the last couple months. I think at this point it is safe to assume that you have some issues going on.

unsigned chart with free music downloads

This new site is designed so that unsigned bands can actually be ranked by this new chart system that was created for them. The unsigned chart with free music downloads can be accessed to hear some of the great up and coming bands who have yet to get a contract.

tourdates.Co.UK, Britains fastest growing new music website, has launched a chart for unsigned bands.

The site allows new bands to upload promotional tracks, announce gig dates and create profiles to promote themselves alongside major artists such as the Artic Monkeys and The Twang.

Tourdates Jarrod Robinson says, there are some fantastic unsigned bands in the UK and we wanted them to know how much our community likes their music, an unsigned chart seemed the perfect answer.

Chart results are announced on the site at 19:00 every sunday, the sametime as the No1 single of the week is announced on BBC's radio 1.

Paris Hilton prosecutor comes under fire

You know a lawyer is lying when his lips are moving. At least that is what they say. In this case I guess it is pretty embarrassing for this guy who basically is trying to make a name for himself by chastising the early release of celeb Paris Hilton. Pretty odd that his wife could go 9 YEARS with a warrant out for her and never see a courtroom until this week. Must be some pretty great EMI Shielding she had going on to keep her out of the grasp of the law. Disturbing those computers so nobody knew she was under fire.

The city prosecutor who condemned Paris Hilton’s early release from jail as celebrity favoritism is now under fire for a case of special treatment closer to home — acknowledging his wife was wanted for arrest for nine years.

The disclosure, first reported by the Los Angeles Times on Wednesday, is the latest in a mushrooming scandal that has engulfed City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo, who ran for California attorney general last year but lost. full story

Travolta disapproves of anti-depressants

John Travolta says his thinking is in line with fellow Scientologist Tom Cruise, who has publicly defended the religion’s stance against psychiatry and the pharmaceutical industry.

Ok...I got to Scientologist and just disregarded what he had to say. Apparently he is saying that the school shootings are the result of on prescription drugs. What next? Are real estate prices caused by men who live in 2 foot boxes and pop out when they song gets to "Pop Goes the Weasel"? Ok...I' have no idea what he said. I didn't read the article, but when someone says they believe in the crap that is Scientology I just have to post about what a bunch of idiots they are.

Read the article if you care.

Nicole Richie drunken driving trial delayed

lol...didn't even know she had been arrested for drunk driving. Must be the cool thing to do these days with celebs. Maybe I should start designing auto accessories for the drunk driver. Stickers that say such things as: "IF you have no talent, there is always drinking and driving to make the news.". Blah...that sucks, but this one is kind of silly. She must be trying to keep up with Paris. Getting jealous of all the attention or something.

Inmates angry about Paris’ special treatment

LOL...really? No way. Of course Paris got special treatment in the clink while she was there in the form of her parents getting special visitation rights while inside. Sitting at the folding tables of the visitation rooms she was unlike other convicts in that she didn't have to wait to see her relatives, unlike the rest of the inmates.

Alvina Floyd waited more than four hours to visit her fiance. It normally takes two, and Floyd, 20, blamed the Hiltons for the delay.

“I have to be at work later,” she said. “I can’t wait here all day.”

Gotta love the way a celeb can piss people off...lol

After her visit, Kathy Hilton said her daughter wants “just to do her time and get on.” She added her daughter has not had much sleep.

Oh no. It will be alright Paris.

PayPerPost Secures $7 Million

This recent press release discusses a new $7 Million procurement of cash for PayPerPost to continue leading the way in the paid blogging arena. Allowing marketers to advertise on blogs PPP has become the biggest network of bloggers in the marketplace and gives advertisers the best chance to get the word out on their products and services.

I've been posting for PPP since December and couldn't ask for a better way to earn money online. The amount of advertisers and bloggers there is by far the biggest on the web. Advertisers are able to gain long-term advertising via search engines, blogs, and word of mouth like no other advertising avenue available. They are able to reach millions of readers and internet users at a fraction of the cost that traditional advertising offers.

Draper Fisher Jurvetson leads round and joins Board of Directors

ORLANDO, FL – (June 12, 2007) – PayPerPost, the leading marketplace for advertisers to reach bloggers and other consumer content creators, today announced it has completed a $7 million second round investment led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, an investor in the company's Series A and one of the world’s leading high-technology venture capital firms. The financing brings the total amount of capital raised by PayPerPost to over $10 million, giving the company considerable resources for further development as the industry’s leading Consumer Generated Advertising marketplace. Additional participants in the round include existing investors Inflexion Partners and Village Ventures as well as new investor DFJ Gotham. With this investment, DFJ Managing Director Josh Stein also joins PayPerPost’s Board of Directors.

“PayPerPost created this exciting new advertising space and has established itself as the industry leader,” said Ted Murphy, chief executive officer of PayPerPost. “Although we’ve only used a portion of our first round capital, this added support from investors unlocks significant growth potential. Our content creator and advertiser ROI metrics clearly demonstrate the upside for PayPerPost’s model. We intend to use this capital to build the infrastructure, visibility and professional expertise necessary to reach and retain a greater network of advertisers and content creators than ever before.”

Since its founding in June of 2006, PayPerPost has signed more than 6,500 advertisers to its groundbreaking service, which has enabled Consumer Content Creators to be compensated for their efforts discussing specific companies, products or services via blogs, videos or other media. The content creators are required to disclose relationships with advertisers on their blog, providing transparency for the end reader. Over 125,000 Internet postings, most in the form of blogs, have already earned money for their creators through PayPerPost’s innovative marketplace. PayPerPost recently released PayPerPost Direct, a disruptive new service that allows advertisers to contract and negotiate directly with individual bloggers they identify through a safe, managed system.

“PayPerPost has laid a strong foundation for the future,” noted Tim Draper, founder and managing director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson. “It continues to attract a critical mass of participants from both the advertising and blogging communities. Analogous to Overture’s sponsored search model, we believe PayPerPost’s business model holds disruptive potential and will enable the company to thrive in the evolving paid-content arena.”

To mark the $7 million dollar funding, PayPerPost has launched a new website detailing the company’s service offering at http://www.payperpost.com. Bloggers and advertisers can easily sign up at the site and begin leveraging the self service marketplace.
