Seems like a good day to talk about the lotto. I bought a Mega Millions ticket today after the cashier at my friendly neighborhood gas station conned me into it. First one I have bought in about 5 years I believe. Good time to get conned into one though. The Mega Millions has an estimated jackpot of $220 Million coming May 1st. The cash option for winning this bad boy is $143.5 Million. Not too shabby. I might be able to get the new copper kitchen sinks I have my eye on. More like gold if I win that...lol
Anyways, nne ticket matched the four winning numbers plus the Mega Ball number to collect $900,000 in the Mega Money game, the Florida Lottery said Wednesday.
The winning ticket was bought in Jacksonville, lottery officials said.
Nine tickets won $812 each for picking 4-of-4; 81 tickets won $197.50 each for picking 3-of-4 plus the Mega Ball number; 1,239 tickets won $38.50 each for picking 3-of-4; 1,844 tickets won $18 each for picking 2-of-4 plus the Mega Ball; 13,683 won $2 each for matching one number plus the Mega Ball; 34,164 tickets won $2 each for picking 2-of-4; and 26,707 won a free Quick Pick ticket for matching the Mega Ball.
The numbers drawn Tuesday night were 4-5-16-20 and the Mega Ball was 4.

‘Slumdog Millionaire’ Rubina Ali, 9, dad tried to sell her
Crazy story of the day surely goes to this one. Rubina Ali, 9 year-old actress from the film Slumdog Millionaire was put up for sale. By her father. HE offered to sell her for $300,000 to undercover reporters from Britain’s News of the World, the newspaper reported.
Rafiq Qureshi, who lives in a Mumbai slum with Ali, who probably feels no need for Colonix, says he is only trying to do right by his daughter and family by attempting to cash in on her fame.
"I have to consider what's best for me, my family and Rubina's future," Qureshi told the News of the World journalists, who posed as a wealthy Middle Eastern family interested in Ali’s illegal adoption.
In the past Qureshi criticized the “Slumdog” production, claiming that he and his family got nothing from Ali’s role in the movie. That is not accurate: in addition to the salaries for the film, trusts for Ali and for fellow young star Azharuddin Ismail were established. Part of the trust is used to pay their tuition at an English-language school, for emergency medical costs and living expenses, and the remainder of the trusts are available to Ali and Ismail after they turn 18.
On April 16, it was announced that the filmmakers also donated $747,500 to Plan, a international children’s charity. The aim of that donation is to help improve the lives of Mumbai street children. They hope as many as 5,000 kids over the next five years will benefit from the donation.

Youtube Unveils New TV Episodes
Youtube decided to get in the TV show ring with Hulu.com recently. They will be showing full episodes of shows in a different section on the site, and possibly full length movies.
Hulu.com has had some success with this idea by showing shows that they have exclusive right s for from NBC like The Office, 30 Rock, and Heroes. USers can watch 24 hours a day with in a day of the original being aired and most times up to the last 5 episodes. Great for people that don't have a DVR still.
Youtube will probably use the same system although they have not made deals yet to show many newer shows. It is all old sitcoms at the mometn. Hulu shows advertisements during the shows such as ads for video games, automotive lifts, and whatever else. Youttube will likely follow suit, or try a different way, but one thing is sure they will advertise. Hulu's aren't terrible as they are basically 30 second breaks instead of t the 2-3 minute ones on TV.

47-year old Wows the World With Her Voice
When the 47-year old Susan Boyle walked on stage for the show Britain's Got Talent the crowd pretty much laughed. She looked as if she had no business being there and Simon Cowell mocked her. A woman that lived with her cat and had little going for her than an afternoon researching Rimadyl instantly became a star.
Unfortunately the fine peopel that uploaded these videos on Youtube have requested that they will not be embedded. Instead you actually have to go to youtube to watch it. Here is the link. This is really worth the watch. Something that you won't expect it is so good. Over 5 Million views now! Some Entertainment actually worth watching.

Demi Moore Uses Twitter to Help Suicidal Woman
While most people are just a little depressed about their weight and use a weight loss supplement to cope with it, or they are depressed about finances and decide to get an extra job. Some people get to a point that they just can't take it at all anymore and contemplate suicide.
What's odd about this situation? For some reason a person thought that they were going to tell Demi Moore they planned on committing suicide through Twitter.
"Getting a knife, a big one that is sharp. Going to cut my arm down the whole arm so it doesn't waste time," said the message sent to Moore by a user of the social networking site.
"Hope you are joking," wrote back Moore.
"Gbye...gonna kill myself now," the woman responded.
If you spend enough time on the internet it seems hard to take this kind of thing seriously. People say things such as this quite often to get a rise out of people, or to get a couple laughs.
Apparently this wasn't a fake cry wolf post. A San Jose police spokesman said the department had received a number of calls from Twitter users about the suicide threat and sent officers to the 48-year-old woman's home.
Moore's husband, Ashton Kutcher, Twitted his congratulations.
"Wifey reported a suicide attempt based on a...tweet she got and saved someones life. The woman is in the hospital now."
Publicity stunt, or real deal? You make the call ;).

How Much do Dancing Stars Earn?
One show I have ever watched, and frankly never will is Dancing With the Stars. Waht was I going on about again? Oh yeah...I'll bet you wonder how much these celebs make for their appearances on the show. Let's just go out on a limb ad say that it is probably more than you do to actually work a year.
Of course all these celebs are independent contractors and need to worry about getting a health insurance lead so they ought to make a ton right?
According to the contract filed in court between Shawn Johnson and BBC Worldwide Productions, which makes the show, the gymnast is being paid a guarantee of $125,000 to do the show, Access Hollywood has learned. The guarantee covers training, the first two weeks of the show and her appearance at the finale.
ohnson will receive $10,000 for getting through the third and fourth weeks of “Dancing.”

As a frontrunner in the competition, who has scored high marks since the start of competition, she only stands to gain more as she takes on the ballroom with professional partner Mark Ballas.
For weeks 5, 6 and 7, Johnson will take home $20,000 a week. She'll earn $30,000 for weeks 8 and 9, and if she makes it to weeks 10 and 11, Johnson will earn $50,000 a week, for a grand total of $365,000.

Kids Still Don't Know Crap About Music, or Movies
Headlines for the Kid's Choice Awards tend to say things like "The Jonas Brothers, and Twilight Own Kid's Choice Awards". Silly kids. This music isn't for anyone.
Others who were in attendance and winning awards were Joe "I suck" Jones, Tiffany "lulz pop music" Tight Pants, and our personal favorite Brian "I'm old as dirt and sold out and finally won an award" Sellout.
Now after the weekend comes Cyber Monday where people can buy all the stuff that will let them spew the fandom that nobody cares about.

Heroes Will Continue Next Season According to NBC Execs
Well...that's news I guess. Not sure I am looking forward to it or not. This show to me has gone so far downhill that I don't even really enjoy watching it anymore. It has gone from a bit interesting and entertaining to completely ridiculous.
"Heroes" fans aren't entirely in the clear yet, though: A renewal isn't a deal until it's a deal. If the show takes a sudden dire ratings turn, the network still has time to reevaluate this strategy. But barring something dramatic happening, NBC is not deterred by the current ratings and will bring back "Heroes" for a fourth round.
Isn't a surprise at all that the ratings are plummeting. The show is just getting bad. Characters aren't even enjoyable to follow anymore. Other than Sylar there just isn't much to care about there since characters like Nathan Patrelli seem to be split personalities and doing things their character never would have done even at the beginning to THIS season.
Plot holes and inconsistencies everywhere.
Most of the characters are useless. Claire is getting to be just annoying. That's hard to do when you are that sexy too whether she is Solo Slim, or not. Her character is just plain silly. She goes from the focal point in season one with the "Save the Cheerleader" BS to being a complete moron.
Wow...a guy that can breather underwater. That IS entertainment! Ugh...this show needs a whole lot to repair itself since the writer's strike.

Beatles McCartney, Starr to play N.Y. charity show
I guess it is flashback week for the music industry. Just after hearing aobut Michael Jackson performing for 120 shows in London, I see that Paul McCartney, and Ringo Starr are ready to perform together again as well.
Former Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr will perform at a New York concert next month to help raise money for a program that encourages troubled children to meditate, organizers said. Wow.
Sure it is great there will be a concert with these legendary Beatles, but what kind of cause is this? I'm sure it is pretty easy to meditate in their luxury hotel rooms, but meditation for troubled kids is a cause now?
The event will benefit filmmaker David Lynch's eponymous foundation, which says it has provided scholarships since 2005 for more than 60,000 students, parents, and teachers around the world to learn to meditate.
The lineup also includes Sheryl Crow, Donovan, Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder, blues-folk musician Ben Harper and techno star Moby. Tickets, priced between $79.50 and $504.50, will go on sale on Monday.
Either way that's a pretty kick ass line up.

Michael Jackson Announces Concert Dates
The infamous King of Pop in more ways than just music announced yesterday that he would be playing his :final curtain call" in London this year. Jackson, 50, revealed the details of the concerts at a news conference in London, where he said he would perform 10 shows at the O2 Arena, beginning July 8. “When I say this is it, I mean this is it,” Mr. Jackson said, according to Reuters. “I’ll be performing the songs my fans want to hear.”
Jacko hasn't performed since 2002 where he held a benefit concert. He appeared on stage in 2006 at the World Music Awards where some audience members echoed boos.
I wonder how successful this tour might be. I still assume that many can forgo their personal thoughts of Jacko and just enjoy his music, but the backlash has to be huge for such a tour. Pulling out the mold killer to dust off his old CDs might get a few back in the mood for such a concert. His music is still recognized as some of the greatest ever, but the man himself is more or less considered, for lack of a better phrase, "freak show".
Jackson has been accused, and paid off families in connection with being accused of molesting underage boys, outbid Paul McCartney for his own songs in a highly publicized fight, he has stiffed financial backers in recent years, and has changed his appearance so drastically through plastic surgery in his lifetime that he is almost unrecognizable at this point. He's even making news as he is suing to get some memorabilia back. Still...hearing Thriller, Beat it, Billy Jean, and other classic pop tunes will surely bring back memories of the better times for die hard fans.
